Preserving Technical Textiles

One of the finest attributes of 1680D ballistic nylon is its exceptional resilience to grime and wear. However, after months of metro commutes, road dust, and coffee splatter, a 10-minute maintenance ritual will rejuvenate your carrying system for years of dependable service.

What NEVER to Do

  • Never Machine Wash: The mechanical agitation of washing machines degrades the internal polyurethane waterproofing membrane and twists structural foam panels.
  • Never Tumble Dry: Intense dryer heat shrinks nylon fibers and warps weather-guard zipper seals.
  • Never Use Harsh Solvents: Bleach and chemical degreasers strip the factory DWR water-repellent coating.

The 3-Step Cleaning Protocol

  1. Dry Brush: Use a soft-bristled horsehair brush to remove loose surface dirt and dried street dust from the nylon weave.
  2. Lukewarm Spot Clean: Mix a few drops of mild pH-neutral dish soap in warm water. Dip a microfiber cloth and gently buff affected panels in small circular motions.
  3. Air Dry in Shade: Hang the bag upside down with all zippers open in a well-ventilated room out of direct sunlight.
